Langtang Gosainkunda with Tamang Heritage Trek
This is a best combination of trek in Langtang regions that includes culture, nature, mountains and lakes. The trek will start with a private jeep drive from Kathmandu to Syaphru Bensi and enter into deep enthnic communities of Tamang Heritage trail. The trek will then enter into Langtang valley through Rimche village and ascends upto Kuangjin Gompa(3.900 m). We will then return back and progress towards Gosainkunda region through Thulo Syaphru village (2.210 m) and trek upto holy lake of Gosainkunda (4.300 m). The trek will end in Thulo Syaphru with a different route of return back and we will drive to Kathmandu with Private Jeep.
Tamang Heritage Trek
Tamang heritage trek is a cultural trail located in the north of Kathmandu that offers close experience with indigenuos Tamang ethnic people, amid green valleys, snow capped mountains and spectacular view of Ganesh Himal, Langtang Himalayas and Tibet mountain ranges. People living in the Tamang heritage trails are tibetan influenced hill tribes, originally came from Tibet as horse trader and settled in the region.Tamang Heritage Trek is comprised of extensive cultural and ethnic exploration of Tamang people in the mountains of Nepal. This trek offers you moderate level of trekking experience in Langtang national park with the experience of lifestyle, tradition, culture, food of specially Tamang people.
Tamang people in the region have their own language, culture and tradition and historically been one of the most marginalised ethnic group of Nepal. The trek can be accompanied with subsequent trek of Gosainkunda or Langtang. The region has established several home stays, where you could learn Tamang culture, immerse into local way of life, share stories and connect with the local people.
The trek gives you an opportunity to visit 100 years old monastery in Gatlang, Hot Spring water and sacred lake of Parvati Kunda. The trail passes through various Tamang villages with regular view of Mount Ganesh and Langtang and connects to Tibetan Boarder of “Kerung”.
Langtang valley trek
Langtang valley is located in the north of Kathmandu and easily accessible from Kathmandu. Langtang valley is also called the valley of glaciers and popular for its expansive views, stunning landscpaes, relatively gentle pace, heart warming hospitality and authentic Tamang culture. The Langtang region is mostly inhabited by the Tamang ethnic group with a rich culture and many traditions.
Langtang is a narrow valley located south of the Tibetan border of Keyrong. The highest mountain in Langtang is Langtang Lirung (7,246 m). Gang Chenpo (6,380 m), Naya Kanga (5,846 m) and Dorje Lhapka (6,966 m) are among the smaller mountains. The trek will go through magnificent forests, high alpine meadows, yak pastures and Langtang river besides you trail throughout the trek. After reaching to the final destination of Kyangjin gompa, you still have a option for tiger summit in Kyangjin Ri( m) which provides 360 degree views of mountain ranges.
Langtang valley has been massively impacted by the earthquake of 2015 and beautiful old Langtang valley is only the glacier of rocks now. Langtang(3.410 m)
Langtang valley lies in the base of Mount Langtang Lirung and in the north central of Nepal .The mountain valley is well know for trekking routes and natural environment. The people and culture of the valley resembles to Tibetan people, lifestyle and culture. Langtang valley was one the most affected area in the region by 2015 earthquake, which completely destroyed the village, as the valley was completely buried underneath by glacier of stones. Motivated locals started rebuilding the village after 4 years of the devastation and currently it is on its way back to normal life and local business of tourism.
Kyanjin Gompa (3,900m)
In Kyanjin Gompa situated at an elevation fo 3.900 m from the sea level is the final destination of the trek. However, a short day hike further to Kyanjin Ri (4,600 m) for the best views of mountains can be done.The village has a yak cheese factory opened with the help of Swiss government in 1955. The cheese factory only operates during the summer and produces around 7,000 kg of cheese annually, which is carried by porters to a dairy in Kathmandu. Sometimes cheese and yoghurt can be bought at the cheese factory.
Gosainkunda Trek
Gosainkunda trek is one of the popular trek for nature trekkers and pilgrims and best suitable for those having short period of time in Nepal and willing to experience alpine zone and Himalayas through classic mountain treks. The trek offers mesmerising alpine forest walks, spectacular mountain views, plants, birds and animals. If you are lucky, you might also have chance to capture a glimpse of endangered animal “Red panda”.
During the trek you can enjoy the magnificent views of Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, Annapurna, and many more .Gosaikunda is a name of holy lake that carries significant religious values to Hindus and Buddhists. Every year in the Full Moon of August, thousands of pilgrims flock to Gosaikunda to take a bath.
There are altogether 108 lakes around the Gosainkunda region but only few lakes including Gosainkunda are on the sight of traveller, others are to be explored extensively. Locals in the region have economic benefit through earnings from tourists and pilgrims by providing fooding and lodging services.

Syaphru Besi (1,470 m)
Syaphru Besi is located in the northern part of Nepal, in Rasuwa District, bordering the Chinese Autonomous Region of Tibet. Syaphru Bensi is situated between two large rivers, Langtang and Kerung rivers and 18 other village development committees are attached to this centre village of trade. The Tamang ethnic group have inhabited this place since ancient times and have their own history, culture, language, religion, tradition and values.People living in the village are mostly Buddhist.
The Samdheon Wösel World Peace Stupa in Syaphru Besi was built for the peace in the world and for all living beings, for the treasures of nature and the environment.
Shing Gompa (Chandanbari) (3.300 m)
Chandanbari is the official name of Shing Gompa and reachable from Dunche town and Thulo Syaphru village. The monastery with a Newar-style door frame and a statue of Chenrezig is well worth seeing. The peaceful village is also famous for the Yak cheese production. People around the Gosainkunda region having yak farm will provide milk on daily basis to the governmental cheese factory in Shing Gompa.
Laurebina (3.900 m):
Laurebina is considered view point for beautiful view of the mountain ranges of Ganesh Himal, Annapurna Massif, Manaslu Massif and Mount Shisapangma in Tibet are seen from Laurebina.
According to the religious belief, lord Shiva during his pilgrimage, left his bamboo sticks in Laurebina and headed further to Gosainkunda. Therefore, nowadays during the Janai Purnima festival, many of the pilgrims leave their walking sticks in Laurebina. Laurebina means Without Stick in Nepali language.
The Sacred Lakes of Gosainkunda (4,200 m):
Gosainkunda is located at an elevation of 4,200 m from the sea level and considered one of the most famous religious pilgrimage sites in Nepal. Every year thousands of Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims visit this holy place in August on the full moon day festival of “Janai Purnima”. Hindus in particular take a dip in the holy lake for inner purification. The large rock in the middle of the lake is believed to be the mortal remains of Shiva and it is said that the waters of the lake flow through channels to the water basin of the Khumbheshwar Temple in Patan.
