Geography:

Nepal is a landlocked country with Tibet,China in the north and India in the east, west and south. Highest Point of the Nepal is Mt. Everest 8848m and lowest Kechana 60m above sea level. Climate

Nepal offers varieties of climate conditions ranging from sub-tropical in the low lands to Arctic higher altitudes. Different areas with the same latitudinal position have varied temperatures in Nepal. Southern Nepal is warmer, whereas northern Nepal is colder. Nepal has Temperate Climate with four variation of four seasons as mentioned below:

1.winter

December to February is considered months of Winter season in Nepal and temperature usually declines significantly and  reaches almost freezing point at the norther regions, and comparatively mountain regions experience heavy snowfall.

2.spring

Ideal spring months of Nepal are March, April and May and variety of flowers, specially magical rhododendron flowers blooms in the forests of mountain region. This is the season for new growths and renewal as the coldness of winter season eases off and give a way to warmer temperatures and longer days.

3.Monsoon

The monsoon season in Nepal regulates through the month of June – August and considered as wet season as well as summer season. It is a low season with clouds, rains and muds with abundant greenery. Monsoon Season generates over 2,500 millimetres of rain every year, creates a lush green landscape with average temperature of 28 C but hilly areas experience much higher temperatures.

4. autumn

September, October and November are three months of autumn in Nepal.

During autumn weather is pleasant and not really affected by the cold. The weather in the autumn season normally remains little humid with warm and sunny days mostly. Autumn season in Nepal is considered one of the best period for trekking and venture in Nepal.

Vegetation

diverse climate and ranges of altitude creates wide array of habitats with 118 eco system and six vegetation categories based on an altitudinal classification. Nepal comprises of more than 35 types of forests as home to various plants and animals.

Nepal has six distinctive types of vegetation ranging from tropical to alpine. These vegetations are : Tropical (<1000 m), Subtropical (1000m – 2000m ), Lower Temperate (1700m- 2700 m), Upper Temperate( 2400m – 3000 m), Subalpine (3000m – 4000m) and alpine (4000m and above).

  These vegetation comprising woodlands are home to diverse range of animals, birds, reptiles and insects.
